This sculpture depicts a boy with his sister piggy-back, and she holds the Olympic Torrch as they walk. The title of this bronze is "The Torch" and it is numbered one of only /300 limited edition. This piece has a beautiful copper tone patina and it is mounted on a dark teak wood base. There is an official seal of the Olympic United States Aid Comittee mounted on the base. This bronze was created by the lost wax process.

Artist Bio:
Dennis Smith has achieved international recognition as a figurative sculptor. He is most widely known for his sculptures of children, which illuminate moments in time where spontaneous discovery and childhood dreams are revealed. All bronze pieces are cast from a wax model regardless of the original material the model was sculpted in usually in clay or wax. "Lost wax"casting method was founded thousands of years ago. Even though, modern methods and materials have improved the technique. It is still an extremely labor intensive and expensive process.
