Steelworker Bronze Sculpture. This sculpture depicts an Ironworker with his right hand up holding a hammer, while balancing on a steel girder, most likely on a high rise under construction. This figure has a beautiful contrast of dark brown and green patina. The bronze is mounted on a marble base. The age of this bronze is unknown. This bronze figure was created by the lost wax casting process.
This sculpture would make a great conversation piece in any setting.
Lost Wax Casting Process
The "Lost Wax" is the most precise metal casting technique in existence, ensuring accurate reproductions of the original sculpture and exquisite detail. All bronze pieces are cast from a wax model regardless of the original material the model was sculpted in usually in clay or wax. "Lost wax" casting method was founded thousands of years ago. Even though, modern methods and materials have improved the technique. It is still an extremely labor intensive and expensive process.
Condition: This bronze is in a very good condition and it is a great piece of art.
